The rest of this week is going to be solely dedicated to Kiehl’s.
After I started testing my huge stash of samples that I picked up at the pop-up store in Canal Walk (check out my post HERE), I decided that I would start off with the basics, and I got myself a cleanser, toner and moisturiser.
Even though my skin is dehydrated and very dry during winter, I’ve never felt comfortable using a cream cleanser. My skin never feels truly clean and I don’t like using a separate make-up remover. I want a foam cleanser that removes all traces of dirt and make-up. And one that doesn’t dry out my skin. Not always that easy to find. I love my Ultra Facial Cleanser as it does exactly what I need it to. A tiny drop of product is all I need. This huge tube is going to last for months.
Cucumber Herbal Alcohol-Free Toner
I’m not really a fan of using toner, but in an effort to try and look after my skin a bit better, I thought it might be time to invest in one. The Kiehl’s consultant recommended the Cucumber Herbal Alcohol-Free Toner. It is for dry and sensitive skin. It is this interesting green colour that I am not too fond of, but the scent is nice and fresh. It leaves my skin feeling soft and clean, without drying it out. As far as toners go, I’m really happy with this one.
Ultra Facial Oil-free Gel Cream
Gel creams usually make me a bit nervous as I am used to rich creams to help treat my dehydrated skin. My skin is terribly dehydrated, but tends to become oily in summer. Makes sense, right? I am very happy with this product as it moisturises my skin beautifully and keeps the shine away. This cream is perfect for me as a day cream during the hotter months. Only a tiny amount is needed for my face and neck and it quickly absorbs without leaving my skin feeling sticky (as some gel creams can do). Big bonus… it’s oil–free, paraben–free, fragrance–free and colourant–free.
I love the Kiehl’s philosophy and the fact that they truly believe in their products. The staff that helped me was knowledgeable, helpful and extremely friendly. I know some people don’t like the packaging, but I prefer it plain and simple – a gold trim doesn’t mean that it will perform better than any other.
I can’t wait for Kiehl’s to put up shop permanently in Cape Town.
Tomorrow’s post will be on 3 products that are on my wishlist. I’ve tried the samples and I’ve seen results…
xoxo

I love Kiehl's and also can't wait for the permanent store in Cape Town. I love their products, especially their Midnight Recovery Concentrate.
ReplyDeleteOoh I would love to try Kiehls. The cucumber toner looks interesting.
